Fat people pollute the atmosphere

The February 2005 edition of Popular Science has an interesting statistic from the FAA. It turns out that the FAA has increased its (probably accurate) estimate of the average weight of a male from 170 p0unds to 184 pounds.

How does that affect the environment? It means your average jet plane now has to consume more jet fuel to go the same distance. The FAA estimates an additional 350 million gallons of jet fuel will be burned as a result. That translates into and additional 3.8 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

So, lose some weight lardass, and stop polluting the atmosphere.
