Dead Mona Lisa Society

My temporary roommate brought over a bunch of movies. Since he's off on business, I've been watching the few I haven't seen. Yesterday I watched Mona Lisa Smile.

Verdict? Good acting, but the story is a ripoff of Dead Poet's Society. Replace the boys with girls, the men with women and poetry with art, and you have a nearly identical movie.

Deer Creek Canyon

My friend (and temporary roommate) and I went for a nice hike along some trails at Deer Creek Canyon Park yesterday. Nice hike. Not too difficult but a little challenging at times. Great views.

Strangely, some people actually jog on this trail. Considering that the trail is fairly narrow and the ground is often broken, I think this is a really bad idea. But, they're young and won't learn until they twist an ankle or blow out their knee.

Congressional shenanigans

I see Congress is helping the rich, while screwing the middle class again. Article here.
